पहचान : जब वाक्य के अंत मे हूं, है, हो, या हैं, मुख्य क्रिया के रूप मे रहता है तब वाक्य के कर्ता के अनुसार am/Is/are का प्रयोग होता है ।

Simple Sentence Use of Am, Is & Are Rule

Am, Is & Are का प्रयोग किसी व्यक्ति, वस्तु, स्थान आदि के गुण धर्म, अवस्था, विशेषता इत्यादि व्यक्त करने मे किया जाता है । जैसे :-

1. बच्चे नटखट होते हैं ।
2. राम अच्छा लड़का है ।
3. पटना बिहार की राजधानी है ।
4. गाय का दूध उपयोगी होता है ।
5. भारतीय किसान मेहनती होते हैं ।

Interrogative Sentence Structure ( Use of How & Why )

जब वाक्य मे क्यों ( Why ) या कैसे ( How ) प्रयुक्त रहता है तब Sentence की बनावट इस प्रकार का होता है ।

Why/How + am/is/are + Subject + Complement ?

Why/How + am/is/are + Subject + ( not ) + Complement ?

Why/How + am/is/are + Subject + ( not ) + a/an + Complement ?

Complement का अर्थ होता है ” पूरक “ आप यहाँ Complement के स्थान पर Adjective/Noun दें ।

अब हम कुछ ऐसे वाक्यो पर विचार करेंगे जिनके अंत मे ‘ होता है ‘ ‘ रहता है ‘ ‘ लगता है ‘ इत्यादि रहते हैं । ऐसे वाक्यो मे यदि किसी का स्वभाव सूचित हो तो उनकी अंग्रेजी is/am/are से बनेगी । जैसे :-

1. दूध उजला होता है ।  Milk is white.
2. दूध मीठा होता है ।      Milk is sweet.
3. पानी ठंडा होता है ।       Water is cold.
4. चीनी मीठी होती है ।      Sugar is sweet.
5. चीनी मीठी लगती है ।      Sugar is sweet.
6. आदमी मरणशील होता है ।    Man is mortal.
7. शिक्षक दयालु होते हैं ।      Teachers are kind.

8. सूर्य गर्म होता है ।     The sun is hot.
9. सिंह बहादुर होता है ।  The lion is brave.
10. दूध लाभदायक होता है ।      Milk is useful.
11. आम मीठा होता है ।      The mango is sweet.
12. बच्चे नटखट होते हैं ।      Children are naughty.
13. गरीब ईमानदार होते हैं ।       The poor are honest.

Milk, Water और Sugar Material Nouns है । अतः सामान्य अर्थ में इनके पहले the का प्रयोग नही होगा ।
