SSB (Services Selection Board) is not a written exam—it’s a personality-based selection system. It tests:

OLQs (Officer-Like Qualities)
Mental and physical stamina
Logical and social behavior
Natural leadership and honesty

So, coaching cannot create these qualities in a few weeks. It can only help you understand the process.

Is Coaching Necessary?

NO – Coaching is NOT compulsory

But…

YES – Coaching helps in understanding the process

So, the balanced truth is:

“If you are self-disciplined, self-aware, and have good communication skills, you don’t need coaching. But if you are unaware of the process, practice or guidance from a good coach or mentor can help you polish and prepare smartly.”

My Personal Suggestions (Follow These):

1. Know the Process Thoroughly

Read about all 5 days of SSB (Screening, Psychology, GTO, Interview, Conference)
Watch real SSB experience videos
Take mock tests (like PPDT, TAT, WAT, SRT)

2. Self-Assessment is Crucial

Be honest about your strengths & weaknesses
Do a self SWOT analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, Threat)

3. Practice, Don’t Just Prepare

Practice TAT stories and write your own life-based examples
Do WAT and SRT with a timer
Speak in front of a mirror or join a speaking group for Interview practice

4. Join Coaching Only If You:

Are unaware of the SSB structure
Need help with psychological tests
Want expert feedback
Lack exposure to group tasks or leadership activities

Avoid overpriced or fake-result-driven academies.
