Double question of interrogative sentence Rule-1.
यदि दो प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य “और” से जुड़े हो, तो दोनो वाक्यों का अनुवाद प्रश्नात्मक ढाँचे पर बनेगा और बीच मे “and” आएगा । जैसे
वह क्या पढता है और क्या लिखता है ? What does he read and what does he write ?
तुम कहाँ से आए हो और क्या चाहते हो ? Where have you come from and what do you want ?
वह कौन है और क्या चाहता है ? Who is he and what does he want ?
Double question of interrogative sentence Rule-2
अब कुछ ऐसे वाक्यों को देखते हैं । जिनके ” दो “ भाग होते हैं । पहला भाग ” main clause “ होता है । और वहीं दूसरा भाग subordinate clause होता है । इस प्रकार के वाक्यों मे main clause का अनुवाद interrogative pattern पर बनाया जाता है । और subordinate clause का अनुवाद assertive patterns पर । दोनो भागो के बीच के “कि” का अनुवाद that नही होता है । जैसे
क्या तुम जानते हो कि राम कहाँ रहता है ? Do you know where Ram lives ?
क्या तुम जानते हो कि मेरा क्या नाम है ? Do you know what my name is ?
क्या बच्चे जानते हैं कि पृथ्वी कैसे घूमती है ? Do children know how the earth moves ?
तुम कैसे जानते हो कि वह कहाँ रहती है ? How do you know where she lives ?
क्या राम कभी नहीं जानेगा कि उसकी कलम किसने चुराई है ? Will Ram never know who has stolen his pen ?
Note : यदि main clause की क्रिया Past tense मे हो, तो subordinate clause की क्रिया के tense मे परिवर्तन होगा । इस प्रकार के परिवर्तन को आप Narration chapter मे विस्तारपूर्वक अध्ययन कर सकते हैं ।

Indirect question : Indirect question के शब्दों का वही क्रम रहता है जो Assertive sentence के शब्दों का रहता है । जैसे
मै जानता हूँ कि तुम क्या जानते हो । i know what you know.
इसका अनुवाद ” i know what do you know ” करना गलत होगा ।
वह जानता है कि उसका दोस्त क्यों नहीं आया । He knows why his friend did not come.
मै जानना चाहता हूँ कि वह क्यों नहीं पढेगी । i want to know why she will not read.
मै जानता हूँ कि तुम कहाँ से आए हो । i know where you have come from.
मै जानता हूँ कि तुम कौन हो । i know who you are.
राम जानता है कि तुम्हारा क्या नाम है । Ram knows what your name is.
सीता जानती है कि मेरे पिता कौन हैं । Sita knows who my father is.
मै जानता हूँ कि किसने इस पुस्तक को लिखा । i know who wrote this book.
मै जानती हूँ कि तुम मुझे क्यों प्यार करते हो । i know why you love me.
Note : ऊपर दिए गए वाक्यों मे “कि” की अंग्रेजी that न दें । वाक्य का पहला भाग जो main clause है । उसकी क्रिया यदि Present या फिर Future tense मे रहें । तो दूसरे भाग subordinate clause की क्रिया के अनुवाद मे Tense परिवर्तन नही होगा ।
परंतु main clause की क्रिया का अनुवाद Past tense मे हो, तो subordinate clause की क्रिया के Tense मे परिवर्तन होगा । जैसे
मै जानता था कि तुमने क्या किया है । i knew what you had done.
