What is an Adjective of Quality?
An Adjective of Quality describes the nature, kind, or quality of a noun. It answers the question: What kind of?
Examples:
- Intelligent boy
- Brave soldier
- Beautiful painting
- Cold weather
Usage of Adjectives of Quality
Before a Noun
- She is a kind woman.
- They live in a big house.
After a Linking Verb (Be, Seem, Look, etc.)
- The sky is blue.
- He looks tired.
Degrees of Comparison in Adjectives of Quality
| Degree | Example | Usage |
|---|---|---|
| Positive Degree | He is strong. | Simple quality |
| Comparative Degree | He is stronger than John. | Comparison between two |
| Superlative Degree | He is the strongest in the class. | Highest degree of quality |
Examples of Comparison:
- Big → Bigger → Biggest

Common Mistakes to Avoid
