Past Indefinite Tense Rules it’s  Structure, Examples & Exercise Solution of Oxford Translation.

Past indefinite tense की क्रिया से यह पता चलता है कि कार्य भूतकाल मे किसी समय समाप्त हो गया । जब हिंदी वाक्यो की क्रियाओ की बनावट धातु + आ/ई/ए+ ( था/थे/थी ) होती है तब इन क्रियाओ का अनुवाद प्रायः Past indefinite tense मे होता है ।

Past indefinite tense मे उपयुक्त क्रिया के V2 form का प्रयोग किया जाता है । जैसे

मैने खाया/मैने खाया था     i ate. ( eat का V2 ate )

Note :  ” मैने खाया “  या  ” मैने खाया था “ इन दोनो का अनुवाद ” i ate. “ ही होगा  ।  कुछ लोग ” मैने खाया था ” का अनुवाद ” i had eaten ” बना देते हैं जो गलत है । वे गलती से इसकी क्रिया को Past Perfect Tense मे होना समझ लेते हैं ।

1. मैने खाया/खाया था ।    i ate.
2. सीता गई/गई थी ।    Sita went.
3. बच्चे गए ।   The children went.
4. आग लगी ।      A fire broke out.
5. मै स्कूल गया ।     i went to school.
6. वह मेरे पास आया ।   He came to me.
7. सीता ने रोटी खाई ।      Sita  ate  bread.
8. उसने एक पक्षी मारा था ।     He killed a bird.
9. उसने मुझे गाली दी थी ।      He abused me.
10. उसने एक चिट्ठी लिखी थी ।    He wrote a letter.
11. मोहन पटना गया था ।      Mohan went to patna.
13. राम ने मुझे एक पुस्तक दी ।   Ram gave me a book.
14. राम ने सुग्रीव की मदद की थी ।     Ram helped Sugreev.
12. उन्होंने गरीबो की मदद की ।   They helped the poor.
15. दशरथ अयोध्या मे राज करते थे ।     Dashrath reigned in Ayodhya.

5. उसने कुछ करना चाहा  He wanted to do something.

उपर्युक्त प्रत्येक हिंदी वाक्यों मे दो क्रियाएँ हैं । अंतिम क्रिया का अनुवाद Past indefinite Tense मे है और ठीक उससे पहलेवाली क्रिया का अनुवाद infinitive के रूप मे हुआ है ।

Note : infinitive का मतलब “to + v1” होता है । यानि कि to के बाद क्रिया का मूल रूप आता है । जैसे
