Rule – 3, [ Change of Other Parts of speech ]

यदि Reporting Verb Past Tense (( Said )) रहे ।। तो Inverted Comma के अंदर प्रयुक्त निकटतम सूचक शब्दों को दूरी सूचक शब्दों मे बदल देते हैं ।निकटतम सूचक शब्द दूरी सूचक शब्द

यदि Reporting Verb ((Said)) के बाद कोई Object रहे तो Said को told मे बदल देते हैं । और

यदि Reporting Verb ( Said ) के बाद Object नहीं रहे तो Reporting Verb ( Said ) को Change नहीं करते हैं, उसे Indirect speech मे भी Said ही लिखा जाएगा ।

Reporting Verb (Said) के बाद प्रयुक्त to को हटा देते हैं यानि कि लुप्त कर देते हैं ।

Inverted Comma ” “ के स्थान पर that का प्रयोग करते हैं।

राम ने कहा कि आज मै व्यस्त हूँ ।

Ram said,” I am busy today.”

Ram said that he was busy that day.

उसने कहा कि आज मै स्कूल नहीं जाऊँगी ।

He said,” I shall not go to school today.”

He said that he would not go to school that day.”

उसने कहा कि यह कलम मेरी नहीं है ।

She said,” This pen is not mine.”

She said that that pen was not hers.

उसने कहा कि मेरा बैग यहाँ नहीं है ।

He said,” My bag is not here.”

He said that his bag was not there.

मैनें कहा कि ये पुस्तकें मेरी नहीं है ।

I said,” These books are not mine.”

I said that those books were not mine.

उसने कहा कि मै कल जाऊँगा ।

He said,” I shall go tomorrow.”

He said that he would go the next day.

राम ने कहा कि मै कल उपस्थित नहीं रहूँगा ।

Ram said,” I shall not be present tomorrow.”

Ram said that he would not be present the next day.

उसने कहा कि कल मै खेल रहा था ।

He said,” I was playing yesterday.”

He said that he had been playing the previous day.

Translate into English Using Indirect Form of Speech

इस Exercise को Book में केवल Indirect Speech मे बनाने को कहा गया है ।।। लेकिन हमने इसको Direct और Indirect दोनो में बना दिया है ।।। ताकि आपको समझने में आसानी हो सके ।

उसने मुझसे कहा कि मै तुम्हारी मदद करना चाहता हूँ ।

He said to me,” I want to help you.”

He told me that he wanted to help me.

उसने कहा कि मै चोर नहीं हूँ ।

He said,” I am not a thief.”

He said that he was not a thief.

सीता ने मुझसे कहा कि तुम मुझे नहीं पढा सकते ।

Sita said to me,” You can not teach me.”

Sita told me that I Could not teach her.

मैनें उससे कहा कि मै तुम्हारी मदद करूँगा ।

I said to him,” I shall help you.”

I told him that I should help him.

उसने मुझसे कहा कि आज मै तैयार नहीं हूँ ।

He said to me,” I am not ready today.”

He told me that he was not ready that day.

उसने मुझसे कहा कि कल मै स्कूल नहीं जाऊँगा ।

He said to me,” I shall not go to school tomorrow.”

He told me that he would not go to school the next day.

राम ने कहा कि मेरा कुत्ता यहाँ है ।

Ram said,” My dog is here.”

Ram said that his dog was there.

उसने कहा कि मै यहाँ खेल रहा हूँ ।

He said,” I am playing here.”

He said that he was playing there.

उसने कहा कि कल मै वहाँ गया था ।

He said,” I went there yesterday.”

He said that he had gone there the previous day.

सोहन ने कहा कि मै खेल रहा था ।

Sohan said,” I was playing.”

Sohan said that he had been playing.

तुम कहते हो कि मै शराब नहीं पीता ।

You say,” I do not drink wine.”

You say that you do not drink wine.

वह कहता है कि मै वहाँ जाऊँगा ।

He says,” I shall go there.”

He says that he will go there.

वह मुझसे कहेगा कि मैनें यह काम नहीं किया है ।

He will say to me,” I have not done this work.”

He will tell me that he has not done this work.
