Type of Tense – There are Three Types of Tense.

परंपरागत वैयाकरणों के अनुसार Tense तीन प्रकार के होते हैं

1. Present Tense ( वर्तमानकाल )
2. Past Tense ( भूतकाल )
3. Future Tense ( भविष्यत् काल )

पुनः प्रत्येक के चार भेद होते हैं ।

There are four types of Present Tense.

Present Tense के चारों भेद इस प्रकार हैं ।

1. Simple Present Tense OR
1. Present Indefinite Tense

2. Present Continuous Tense OR
2. Present Imperfect Tense OR
2. Present Progressive Tense

3. Present Perfect Tense

4. Present Perfect Continuous Tense

इसी प्रकार Past Tense और Future Tense के भी चार प्रकार होते हैं ।

पहचान : हिंदी वाक्य की जिस क्रिया के अंत मे ता हूँँ / ती हूँँ / ते हैं / ती हो / ते हो / ती है / ता है रहता है उस क्रिया का अनुवाद प्रायः Present Indefinite Tense मे होता है

अंग्रेजी मे अनुवाद करने के लिए कर्ता के बाद क्रिया का मूल रूप दें । परंतु यदि कर्ता Third Person Singular Number मे रहे, तो क्रिया मे -s/es जोड़ दें ।

Important Matters About Present Indefinite Tense.

Present Indefinite Tense  की क्रिया से प्रायः यह बोध होता है कि कार्य वर्तमानकाल मे सामान्यतः होता है ।  इस प्रकार Present Indefinite Tense का प्रयोग मुख्यतः कर्ता के स्वभाव ( Nature ) या आदत ( habit ) को व्यक्त करने के लिए होता है ।

इसका प्रयोग चिरंतन सत्य  ( eternal truth )  सिद्धांत  ( Principle ) स्थायी कार्य  ( Permanent activity )  इत्यादि को व्यक्त करने के लिए होता है । इसके अलावा इसका प्रयोग कई अन्य परिस्थितियों – जैसे भविष्य में होने वाले कार्यक्रम/निर्णय/शर्त का भाव व्यक्त करने मे भी होता है ।

Note : इस Tense से यह बोध नहीं होता है, कि अभीष्ट कार्य अभी ( बोलते समय ) हो रहा है या नहीं, ऐसा Present Continuous Tense द्वारा व्यक्त होता है । Present indefinite Tense प्रायः यह भाव व्यक्त करता है कि ऐसा होता है । ( न कि ऐसा हो रहा है )

Examples : 

बिल्ली मांस खाती है ।    The cat eats meat.

इस वाक्य की क्रिया  Present Indefinite Tense  में है । और इससे यह बोध होता है कि बिल्ली का स्वभाव मांस खाने का है, अर्थात् वह मांस खाया करती है । इस वाक्य का अभिप्राय यह नहीं है कि कोई खास बिल्ली अभी मांस खा रही है ।

Structure of Present Indefinite Tense

Subject + V1/V5 + Object.
Subject + V1/V5 + Object + Other word.

Examples of Present Indefinite Tense

1. मै खाता हूँँ ।    i eat.
2. वह जाता है ।   He goes.
3. वह जाती है ।   She goes.
4. राम जाता है ।   Ram goes.
5. तुम खेलते हो ।     You play.
6. हमलोग पढतें हैं ।    We read.
7. आपलोग पढते हैं ।    You read.

8. गायें चरती हैं ।   Cows graze.
9. वे लोग दौड़ते हैं ।    They  run.
10. बच्चे खेलते हैं ।   Children play.
11. गाय चरती है ।     The cow grazes.
12. मेरा भाई खेलता है ।     My brother plays.
13. मेरे भाई लोग खेलते हैं ।     My brothers play.
14. राम और श्याम जाते हैं ।   Ram and Shyam go.

Present Indefinite Tense Negative Sentences Rules, Structure, Examples & Exercise Solution.

Rules of Present Indefinite Tense Negative Sentence

( a ) नकारात्मक वाक्य Subject के बाद do not/does not लगाकर बनाया जाता है । इस प्रकार वाक्य की बनावट होती है ।

( b ) जब Subject, Third Person Singular Number मे रहता है तब does not का प्रयोग होता है । अन्य Subject के साथ do not का प्रयोग होता है  ।  Main Verb मे -s/es नही जुड़ता है ।

( c ) do not को  don’t  और does not को doesn’t भी लिखा और बोला जाता है । ऐसा प्रयोग प्रायः Spoken English में विशेष रूप से होता है ।

Structure of Negative Sentence 

Subject + do not/does not + V1.
Subject + don’t/doesn’t + V1.

Example of Simple Present Tense Negative Sentence

1. मै नही खाता हूँँ ।    i don’t eat.
2. राम नही खाता है ।   Ram doesn’t eat.
3. हमलोग नही पढते हैं ।    We don’t read.
4. राम नही पढता है ।     Ram doesn’t read.
5. तुम स्कूल नही जाते हो  You don’t go to school.
6. गायें मांस नही खाती है ।    Cows don’t eat meat.
7. गाय मांस नही खाती है ।   The cow doesn’t eat meat.
8. मेरी गाय दूध नही देती है ।  My cow doesn’t give milk.
9. मेरी गायें दूध नही देती हैं ।  My cows don’t give milk.
