Emphatic With “Do / Does / Did” Rules, Examples & Exercise full Solution of Oxford Current English Grammar by R.k Sinha.

Emphatic का अर्थ “जोरदार” होता है । मुख्य क्रिया के पहले Do / Does / Did का प्रयोग कर कुछ वाक्यों को Emphatic बनाया जाता है ।

यदि वाक्य मे प्रयुक्त क्रिया Simple present tense मे हो, तो do/does का प्रयोग करें । और यदि प्रयुक्त क्रिया Simple past tense में हो, तो did का प्रयोग करें ।

Note : ध्यान रखें कि Do/Does/Did के बाद हमेशा Verb का first form ( V1 ) का प्रयोग होता है ।

Non-emphatic                    Emphatic

i know her.                                     i do know her.

We help you.                               We do help you.

He eats meat.                           He does eat meat.

Ram plays tennis.            Ram does play tennis.

i went there.                                    i did go there.

He went fishing.                    He did go wishing.

He wanted to go.                    He did want to go.

He heard the news.         He did hear the news.

यदि वाक्य मे have/has/had का प्रयोग मुख्य क्रिया के रूप में हो, तो emphatic बनाने के लिए do have / does have / did have का प्रयोग करें ।

Note : ध्यान रखें कि do/does/did के बाद have का प्रयोग होगा, has/had का नहीं ।

i have a car.                                  i do have a car.

She has a radio.               She does have a radio.

She had a cow.                     She did have a cow.

Imperative Sentences को emphatic बनाने के लिए Verb के पहले Do का प्रयोग करें ।

Note : यहाँ ध्यान रखें कि Does/Did का प्रयोग imperative sentence के verb के पहले कभी नहीं होगा ।

Come tomorrow.                  Do come tomorrow.

Write me a letter soon.     Do Write me a letter soon.

Note : अब तक बताए गए वाक्यों मे do/does/did का प्रयोग वाक्य को जोरदार बनाने के लिए किया गया है । ऐसे वाक्यों में do/does/did का अनुवाद “जरूर/जोरदार” होता है ।

i do go there.  मै वहाँ अवश्य/जरूर जाता हूँ ।/ मै वहाँ जाता तो हूँ ।

She does love me.  वह मुझे अवश्य/जरूर प्यार करती है ।/ वह मुझे प्यार करती तो है ।

He did help you.  उसने अवश्य/जरूर तुम्हारी मदद की ।/ उसने तुम्हारी मदद की तो थी ।

i did write to him.  मैनें उसे अवश्य/जरूर लिखा था ।/ मैंने उसे लिखा तो था ।

He does have peace.  उसे शांति अवश्य/जरूर है ।/ उसे शांति तो है ।

Please do help me.  कृपया मेरी मदद अवश्य/जरूर करें ।

From Emphatic to non-Emphatic

Emphatic Sentences को non-emphatic बनाने के लिए वाक्य मे प्रयुक्त do/does/did को हटा दें और Subject के Number तथा verb के Tense के अनुसार आवश्यक परिवर्तन करें ।

Emphatic imperative को non-imphatic बनाने के लिए सिर्फ do को हटा दें ।

Emphatic.                  Non-Emphatic

i do help you.                                         i help you.

She does know me.                       She knows me.

She did buy the book.       She bought the book.

i do have a car.                                  i have a car.

She does have love for me.  She has love for me.

Do tell me a story.                        Tell me a story.
