Relations की Properties (गुण)

यदि किसी सेट AA पर परिभाषित एक संबंध RR है, तो उसके निम्नलिखित गुण हो सकते हैं:

  1. Reflexive (परावर्तनीय): हर तत्व a∈Aa \in A के लिए (a,a)∈R(a, a) \in R होना चाहिए।
  2. Symmetric (सममित): यदि (a,b)∈R(a, b) \in R, तो (b,a)∈R(b, a) \in R भी होना चाहिए।
  3. Transitive (सांक्रामक): यदि (a,b)∈R(a, b) \in R और (b,c)∈R(b, c) \in R, तो (a,c)∈R(a, c) \in R होना चाहिए।
  4. Antisymmetric (प्रतिसममित): यदि (a,b)∈R(a, b) \in R और (b,a)∈R(b, a) \in R, तो a=ba = b होना चाहिए।

Inverse Relation (उल्टा संबंध)

यदि RR एक संबंध है, तो उसका उल्टा संबंध R−1R^{-1} उन सभी युग्मों का सेट है जहाँ प्रत्येक (a,b)∈R(a, b) \in R के लिए (b,a)∈R−1(b, a) \in R^{-1} होता है।

उदाहरण:

यदि R={(1,2),(3,4)}R = \{(1, 2), (3, 4)\}, तो R−1={(2,1),(4,3)}R^{-1} = \{(2, 1), (4, 3)\} होगा।

Complement of a Relation (संबंध का पूरक)

यदि AA एक सेट है और RR उस पर परिभाषित एक संबंध है, तो RR का पूरक R‾\overline{R} उन सभी युग्मों का सेट है जो A×AA \times A में हैं लेकिन RR में नहीं हैं।

उदाहरण:

यदि A={1,2}A = \{1, 2\} और R={(1,1)}R = \{(1, 1)\}, तो A×A={(1,1),(1,2),(2,1),(2,2)}A \times A = \{(1, 1), (1, 2), (2, 1), (2, 2)\} और R‾={(1,2),(2,1),(2,2)}\overline{R} = \{(1, 2), (2, 1), (2, 2)\} होगा।
