Discrete Mathematics GATE CSE में एक महत्वपूर्ण विषय है, खासकर Theory of Computation, Algorithms, और Data Structures की समझ के लिए। आज हम शुरुआत करेंगे “Sets” की Basic Concept से।

Types of Sets:

1⃣ Roster Method (Tabular Method) – सूची पद्धति

इस पद्धति में सभी एलिमेंट्स को कर्ली ब्रैकेट {} में लिस्ट किया जाता है, कॉमा से अलग किया जाता है।

Example:
A = {2, 4, 6, 8, 10}
यहाँ A वह सेट है जिसमें सम (even) संख्याएं 2 से 10 तक दी गई हैं।

हिंदी में:
“इस विधि में हम सेट के सभी सदस्य एक साथ {} में लिखते हैं।”

2⃣ Set-Builder Method – निर्माता विधि

इस पद्धति में सेट को इस तरह परिभाषित किया जाता है कि वह किस नियम (Rule) या गुण (Property) को follow करता है।

Example:
A = {x | x is an even number and 2 ≤ x ≤ 10}
(पढ़ें: “A is the set of all x such that x is even and lies between 2 and 10”)

हिंदी में:
“वह विधि जिसमें सेट के एलिमेंट्स की विशेषता या नियम के अनुसार उन्हें लिखा जाता है।”
