Use of Am/is/Are or Was/Were of 

कल आप उदास थे, परंतु आज आप प्रसन्न हैं ।    yesterday, you were sad, but today you are happy. Or
You were sad yesterday, but you are happy today.
कल शिक्षक महोदय उपस्थित थे, परंतु आज वे अनुपस्थित हैं
Yesterday, the teacher was present but today he is absent.
कल आप क्यो तैयार नहीं थे ? आज क्यों तैयार हैं ।
why were you not ready yesterday ? why are you ready today.
कल मैं थका था, इसलिए तैयार नहीं था ।    yesterday, i was tired, so i was not ready.

नही, कल आप उदास थे, इसलिए तैयार नहीं थे ।    No, you were sad yesterday, so you were not ready.
मेरा भाई वर्ग मे उपस्थित था ।     My brother was present in the class.
मै अनुपस्थित था, क्योंकि मै अस्वस्थ और कमजोर था ।
i was absent because i was unhealthy and weak.
कल आप रंज थे ।    yesterday, you were angry.
आप क्यों रंज थे ?    Why were you angry ?
मै रंज नही था ।     i was not angry.
मै उदास था । मै उदास और भूखा था ।     i was sad. i was sad and hungry.
भारतीय किसान गरीब और लाचार थे, क्योंकि वे बेवकूफ और अशिक्षित थे ।
Indian farmers were poor and helpless because they were foolish and uneducated.

आप क्यों धनी नहीं हैं ?    Why are you not rich ?
मै धनी नहीं हूँ, क्योंकि मै चालक और परिश्रमी नहीं हूँ ।
i am not rich because i am not clever and laborious.
क्या आपका कुत्ता वफादार है ?    is your dog faithful ?
हाँ, मेरा कुत्ता वफादार है, परंतु मेरा नौकर वफादार नहीं है ।
Yes, my dog is faithful but my servant is not faithful.
अंग्रेज चालाक और मेहनती थे, इसलिए वे हमारे शासक थे ।
The English were clever and laborious, so they were our rulers.

क्या आप तैयार थे ?    Were you ready ?
मै तैयार नहीं था, परंतु अब मैं तैयार हूँ ।     i was not ready but now i am ready.
तुम क्यों तैयार नहीं हो ?     Why are you not ready ?
मै तैयार नहीं हूँ, क्योंकि मै थका हूँ ।     i am not ready because i am tired.
क्या साधु महान होते हैं ?     are saints great.
कुछ साधु महान होते हैं, परंतु कुछ तो बहुत बुरे होते हैं ।
Some saints are great but some are very bad.

Right Use of Am/is/Are/ Was/Were or Shall be & Will be

क्या कल तुम उदास थे ?    Were you sad yesterday ?
मै कल उदास नहीं था ।    i was not sad yesterday.
मै प्रसन्न हूँ और प्रसन्न रहूँगा ।     i am happy and shall be happy.
कुछ लड़के तुमसे अप्रसन्न थे ।    Some boys were unhappy with you.
मै प्रसन्न हूँ, क्योंकि मेरा बेटा भाग्यशाली होगा ।     i am happy because my son will be lucky.
क्या आप कल तैयार रहेंगे ?     Will you be ready tomorrow ?
हाँ, मै तैयार रहूँगा, परंतु आप तैयार नहीं रहेंगे ।     yes, i shall be ready but you will not be ready.
क्या भारत के लोग दुखी रहेंगे ।     Will The people of india be sad.

नहीं, वे प्रसन्न रहेंगे, क्योंकि वे ईमानदार बनेंगे ।     No, they will be happy because they will be honest.
भारत एक महान देश बनेगा ।     india will be a great country.
हम महान बनेंगे ।     We shall be great.
महात्मा गांधी क्या महान नहीं थे ?     Was mahatma gandhi not great ?
वे महान थे । वे कैसे महान थे ?     He was great. How was he great ?
वे महान थे, क्योंकि वे सत्यवादी और ईमानदार थे ।     He was great because he was truthfull and honest.
क्या आप भाग्यशाली नहीं हैं ?     Are you not lucky ?
मै भाग्यशाली नहीं हूँ, परंतु मै परिश्रमी हूँ और मै अवश्य सफल रहूँगा ।
i am not lucky but i am laborious and i will be successful.

मै मेहनती हूँ इसलिए धनी बनूंगा ।     i am laborious so i shall be rich.
मै बूढा नहीं हूँ, मै थका हूँ ।     i am not old, i am tired.
कुछ समय के बाद मै सक्रिय होऊंगा और एक अच्छा आदमी बनूंगा ।
After some time, i shall be active and a good man.
कोई आदमी भूखा नहीं रहेगा, क्योंकि हम मेहनती हैं ।
Nobody will be hungry because we are laborious.
मै क्यों डाँक्टर नही बनूंगा ?     Why shall i not be a doctor ?

तुम डाँक्टर नही बनोगे, क्योंकि तुम मेहनती नहीं हो और भाग्यशाली भी नही ।
You will not be a doctor because you are not laborious and lucky too.
चूंकि तुम दयालु नहीं हो, तुम साधु नही बनोगे ।     since you are not kind, you will not be a saint.
मै दृढ हूँ और मै दृढ रहूँगा ।     i am rigid and shall be rigid.
मै यह जानकर आश्चयित हूँ कि वह एक नेता बनेगा ।    i am surprised to know that he will be a leader.

How to Use of Article-a, an & the 

तुम संतुष्ट हो, क्योंकि तुम एक एमo पीo हो ।     you are satisfied because you are an M.P.
मेरा बेटा एमo एo है और मै बीo एo, फिर भी हमलोग प्रसन्न हैं ।
My son is an M.P and i am a B.A yet we are happy.
क्या भारत का सोना विश्व मे प्रसिद्ध नहीं हैं ?    is the gold of india not famous in the world ?
क्या गरीब लोग बेसहारा नहीं हैं ?    Are the poor not helpless ?
गरीब लोग क्यों बेसहारा रहेंगे ?    Why will the poor be helpless ?
कालिदास संस्कृत के सबसे महान कवि थे । वे बहुत विद्वान थे, परंतु शुरू में वे बहुत मूर्ख थे ।
lidas was the greatest poet of Sanskrit. He was a great scholar but in the beginning he was very foolish.

गंगा, हिमालय, सूर्य, चाँद, तारे इत्यादि भगवान की महान कलाकृतियाँ हैं ।
The Ganges, the Himalayas, the sun, the moon, stars etc are great artistic creations of God.
ईमानदारी सबसे अच्छी नीति है ।    Honesty is the best policy.
क्या आप ईमानदार नहीं हैं ?     Are you not honest ?
मै ईमानदार आदमी हूँ और हमेशा ईमानदार रहूँगा ।    i am an honest man and shall always be honest.
इस नदी का पानी साफ है ।     the water of this river is clean.
पानी हमलोगो के लिए आवश्यक है ।    Water is essential for us.
क्या आप एमo एo हैं ? तब आप एक पढे लिखे व्यक्ति हैं ।
Are you an M.A ? Then you are an educated person.
आप एक B.D.O अवश्य बनेंगे ।    you shall be a B.D.O.

मै जो हूँ वही रहूँगा ।     i shall be what i am.
तुम कैसे तेज नहीं हो ?     How are you not intelligent ?
क्या आप यूरोपीयन नहीं हैं ?     Are you not a european ?
नही, मै भारतीय हूँ और भारतीय रहूँगा ।    No, i am an indian and shall be an indian.
क्या होली तुम्हारे लिए महत्वपूर्ण नहीं है ?    is holi not important for you ?
आज चाँद उदास है क्योंकि तुम उदास हो ।     today the moon is sad because you are sad.
क्या कलम अच्छी नहीं है ?    is the pen not good ?
क्या लड़के बुरे नहीं हैं ?     Are the boys not bad ?
क्या तबला, गिटार, हारमोनियम और रेडियो बिहार मे प्रसिद्ध नहीं हैं ?
Are the tabla, the guitar, the harmonium and the radio not famous in Bihar ?

क्या चाय मीठी है ?     is the tea sweet ?
