Definition of Voice
Definition : The unit of English grammar in which Subject, Verb and Object of a Sentence are changed without changing the meaning of Sentence is called Voice.
अर्थ : अंग्रेजी व्याकरण की इकाई जिसमें कर्ता, क्रिया और कर्म किसी वाक्य का बिना अपने अर्थ को बदले बदल जाता है, इसे Voice कहते हैं ।
For Example
वह आम खाता है । He eats a mango.
उसके द्वारा आम खाया जाता है । a mango is eaten by him.
There are two type of Voice : Voice दो प्रकार के होते हैं ।
1. Active Voice
2. Passive Voice
1. Active Voice : यदि किसी वाक्य का कर्ता क्रिया का संपादन करता है, तो उस वाक्य मे प्रयुक्त Verb को Active Voice मे होना समझा जाता है । जैसे
राम पढाता है । Ram teaches.
राम आम खाता है । Ram eats a mango.
यहाँ वाक्य मे कर्ता ( Ram ) पढाने एवं खाने का काम करता है, अर्थात् वह अभीष्ट क्रिया का संपादन करता है । अतः प्रयुक्त Verb ” teaches & eats ” Active Voice मे है ।
2. Passive Voice : यदि वाक्य का कर्ता सक्रिय नही है, क्रिया का संपादन नही करता है । बल्कि क्रिया उसी पर संपादित होती है, तब वाक्य में प्रयुक्त Verb को Passive Voice मे होना समझा जाता है । जैैसे
राम पढाया जाता है । Ram is taught.
पेड़ लगाए जाते हैं । Trees are planted.
यहाँ वाक्य में प्रयुक्त कर्ता ( Ram & Trees ) अभीष्ट क्रिया का संपादन नही करता है बल्कि उसी पर पढाने और लगाने का काम संपादित होता है । अतः इस वाक्य मे प्रयुक्त Verb “ is taught & are planted ” Passive Voice मे है ।
Note : इसलिए किसी वाक्य का अनुवाद करने से पहले आप यह देख लें कि कर्ता क्रिया का संपादन करता है या कर्ता पर ही क्रिया संपादित होती है । अगर कर्ता संपादन करता है, तो Active voice का प्रयोग होगा और अगर क्रिया उसी पर संपादित होती है, तो Passive voice का प्रयोग होगा ।

Active Voice :
Active Voice मे Subject सक्रिय होता है ।
Active Voice मे Object निब्क्रिय होता है ।
Active Voice मे Tense के बारह प्रकार होते हैं ।
Active Voice मे Verb के पाँचो रूपो का प्रयोग होता है ।
Active Voice मे Subject के बाद सीधे Main Verb आ सकता है ।
Passive Voice :
Passive Voice मे Subject निब्क्रिय होता है ।
Passive Voice मे Object सक्रिय होता है ।
Passive Voice मे Tense के सिर्फ आठ प्रकार का प्रयोग होता है ।
Passive Voice मे Verb के सिर्फ तीसरे रूप ( V3 ) का प्रयोग होता है ।
Passive Voice मे Verb के बाद Helping Verb आता है ।
Active Voice & Passive Voice के कुछ अन्य उदाहरण
मोहन को प्रतिदिन पीटा जाता है । इस वाक्य का कर्ता मोहन है जो कि क्रिया का संपादन नही करता है । बल्कि पीटने का काम उसी पर संपादित होता है । अतः इस वाक्य की क्रिया का अनुवाद Passive Voice मे होगा ।
पेड़ लगाया जा रहा है । इस वाक्य में कर्ता पेड़ है जो कुछ नही कर रहा है । बल्कि उसपर ही लगाने का काम संपादित हो रहा है । अतः इस वाक्य की क्रिया का अनुवाद Passive Voice मे होगा ।
खिड़कियाँँ तोड़ी जा रही है । यहाँ कर्ता खिड़कियाँँ है जो तोड़ने का काम नही कर रही है, बल्कि उन्हें ही तोड़ा जा रहा है । अतः Passive Voice का प्रयोग होगा ।
मेरे द्वारा पत्र लिखा जा रहा है । इस वाक्य मे कर्ता पत्र है जो क्रिया का संपादन नही कर रहा है, बल्कि उसी पर क्रिया संपादित हो रही है । अतः इस वाक्य की क्रिया का अनुवाद Passive Voice मे होगा ।
