Direct to Indirect Speech Changing Special Rules – 1, How to Change Interrogative Sentences into Indirect Speech.
Special Rules : Assertive Sentences / Statements
Inverted Comma के अंदर प्रयुक्त Assertive Sentence को Indirect Speech मे परिवर्तित करने के लिए जो भी नियम हैं । उनसे आप पिछले पोस्ट मे परिचित हो चुके हैं । क्योंकि अभी तक आपने जिन वाक्यों को Indirect Speech मे परिवर्तित किये हैं वे सभी Assertive Sentence हैं ।
आपने देखा है। कि Inverted Commas को that मे बदल दिया जाता है । जब Say के बाद to + Object रहता है । और Reporting Verb Say को tell + Object मे बदल दिया जाता है । और
जब to + Object नहीं रहता है, तब Say को ज्यो का त्यो छोड़ दिया जाता है ।। आप चाहे तो say + to + object को tell + object मे नहीं भी बदल सकते हो, परंतु बदल देना ज्यादा अच्छा होगा ।
Interrogative Sentences ke Special Rules & Examples
यदि Inverted Commas के भीतर Interrogative Sentence रहे तो निम्नलिखित प्रकार से Direct Speech को Indirect Speech मे बदलते हैं ।
1. Reporting Verb ( say, said ) को ( ask, asked ) मे बदल देते हैं ।
2. Inverted Comma के स्थान पर if का प्रयोग करते हैं
3. Inverted Comma के अंदर प्रयुक्त Interrogative Sentence को Assertive Sentence मे बदल देते हैं और Indirect Speech मे Change करने के जो सामान्य नियम (General Rules) हैं उन्हें Apply कर पूरे वाक्य को Indirect Speech मे बदल देते हैं ।
Note : Interrogative Sentences को Assertive Sentence मे इस प्रकार बदला जाता है ।
Interrogative Assertive
Are you poor ? You are poor.
Are you ill ? You are ill.
Am i not rich ? i am not rich.
Was he absent ? He was absent.
Was she dancing ? She was dancing.
Has he a cow ? He has a cow.
Have they gone ? They have gone.
Have you no time ? You have no time.
Had you a book ? You had a book.
Can she do ? She can do.
Can you do this ? You can do this.
Will he go ? He will go.
Will you do ? You will do.
Shall i do this ? i shall do this.
Could he go ? He could go.
Should you run ? You should run.
Should you go there ? You should go there.
Do you eat ? You eat.
Do you not play ? You don’t play.
Does he go ? He goes.
Does he read ? He reads.
Doesn’t she help you ? She doesn’t help you.
Did he go ? He went.
Did he not go ? He didn’t go.
Did you know ? You knew.
Did they not come ? They didn’t come.
Had he gone ? He had gone.
Note : Inverted Comma के अंदर Interrogative Sentence जिस Tense मे होता है, उसे उसी Tense के Assertive Sentence मे बदला जाता है ।
यहाँ इस वाक्य में सबसे पहले inverted commas के अंदर जो interrogative sentence हैं । उसे Assertive sentence में बदल देंगें ।
1. He said to me,”you are ill.”
अब यह Assertive form मे है, और अब इसे Indirect Speech मे Change करेंगे ।
1. He asked me if i was ill.
