Oxford Current English Translation Ex 210 & 211 Solution
Phrase कुछ Words से बने होते हैं । जो वाक्य का एक part होता है। ” Phrase को Group of Words समझें “ । ऐसे Words के group जिनमें आपसी पकड़ तथा विशेष संबंध रहता है ।। परंतु इसमें Subject और Verb का वह मेल नहीं होता जो clause या Sentences में होता है । इन वाक्यों को देखें ।
1. क्या खाएँ यह एक समस्या है ।
2. कैसे पढें यह एक प्रश्न है ।
3. कहाँ जाएँ यह विचाराधीन है ।
4. क्या करें यह पता नहीं है ।
5. क्या नहीं करें यह पता नहीं है ।
इन वाक्यों में ” यह “ का प्रयोग हुआ है ।। इस ” यह “ के पहले phrase क्या खाएँ, कैसे पढें, क्या नहीं करें इत्यादि का प्रयोग है । इन वाक्यों के कर्ता वे phrase हैं जो “यह” के पहले आए हैं । ऐसे वाक्यों के कर्ता का अनुवाद नीचे दिए गए Structure के अनुसार किया जाता है ।

क्या नहीं करें । What not to do.
अब कर्ता के बाद वाक्य की क्रिया तथा अन्य पद दें । “यह” की अंग्रेजी this नहीं दें । “यह” की अंग्रेजी लुप्त रहेगी ।

क्या खाएँ यह एक समस्या है ।
What to eat is a problem.
कैसे पढें यह एक प्रश्न है ।
How to read is a question.
क्या करें यह पता नहीं है ।
What to do is not known.
कब जाएँ यह अनिश्चित है ।
When to go is uncertain.
क्या नहीं करें यह पता नहीं है ।
What not to do is not known.
क्या कहाँ जाएँ यह विचाराधीन है ।
Is where to go under consideration ?
क्यों कहाँ ठहरे यह तय नहीं है ।
Why is where to stay not decided ?
Note : ऐसा अनुवाद करना गलत होगा ।

Clause ( उपवाक्य ) as Subject :
उपवाक्य (Clause) वाक्य का एक भाग होता है । Clause के पास अपना Subject और Verb होता है । परंतु Clause एक Complement meaning नहीं दे पाता जो एक Sentence देता है ।
Where she lives is not known. एक Sentences है । जिसमे Where she lives एक clause है जो Subject के रूप मे आया है । नीचे देखें
वह क्या करती है यह मालूम नहीं ।
What she does is not known.
वह क्यों इंतजार करती है यह एक रहस्य है ।
Why she waits is a mistry.
ऐसे वाक्यों में ” यह “ के पहले आनेवाला उपवाक्य का असली Subject होता है, ऐसे वाक्यों के अनुवाद मे “यह” की अंग्रेजी लुप्त हो जाती है ।
यह भी ध्यान रखें कि उपवाक्य का अनुवाद प्रश्नवोधक शब्द से शुरू होने के वाबजूद Assertive Sentence के pattern पर ही बनता है ।
प्रश्नवोधक शब्द से शुरू नहीं होने पर That से Clause शुरू करना आवश्यक हो जाता है । अतः ऐसा अनुवाद ना करें ।
वह कहाँ जाती है यह एक रहस्य है ।

पुनः ऐसा ना लिखें ।
राम गरीब है यह पता है ।
Ram is poor is known.
यहाँ That Ram is poor is known सही अनुवाद होगा

वह निर्दोष है यह एक तथ्य है ।

वह जो/क्या कहता है यह एक रहस्य है ।

वह कब आएगा यह कोई नहीं जानता ।
