How to use of Own Rules
आपने पिछले अध्याय के Solution मे देखा है कि किसी Noun / Pronoun के साथ अपना शब्द प्रयुक्त रहने पर “अपना” का अनुवाद उस Noun या Pronoun के बदले आनेवाले उपयुक्त Pronoun के Possessive Case के रूप मे होता है ।
परंतु जहाँ Noun या Pronoun के संबंधकारक यानि कि ( Possessive Case ) के साथ ” अपना ” शब्द रहे । वहाँ अपना शब्द का अनुवाद ” Own ” होगा । जैसे
यह तुम्हारा अपना घर है । This is your own house.
[ यहाँ तुम्हारा और अपना दोनो का प्रयोग हुआ है अतः अपना के लिए ” Own ” का प्रयोग होगा है । ]
परंतु ” यह तुम्हारा घर है । ” का अनुवाद ” This is your house. ” होगा ।
और ” तुम अपने घर मे हो ” का अनुवाद ” You are in your house. ” होगा ।
उपर्युक्त तीनो वाक्यो मे निहित अंतर को समझें । पहले वाक्य मे ” तुम्हारा ” और ” अपना ” दोनो है । अतः ” Your Own ” का प्रयोग हुआ है ।

आपने पिछले पाठ मे My, Our, your, his, her, their और its का प्रयोग सीखा है । ये Possessive Adjectives हैं । इनका प्रयोग सदा Noun के पहले होता है ।
Possessive Pronoun के साथ Noun जुड़ा नही रहता । अतः आप ऐसा नहीं लिखें ।

Hints : यदि मेरा, तुम्हारा, हमारा इत्यादि के बाद Noun नहीं रहे तो इसे Possessive Pronoun कहते हैं जैसे

Rules of Apostrophe ‘s & of
Apostrophe ‘s – का, के, की, OF – का, के, की ।
1. प्राणिबोधक Singular Noun को Possessive Case का रूप देने के लिए ( Apostrophe ‘s ) लगाया जाता है । जैसे
गाय की पूंछ The cow’s tail
सीता की बहनें Sita’s sister
राम की किताब Ram’s book
मेरे दोस्त का नाम My friend’s name
2. प्राणिबोधक Plural Noun जिसके अंत मे “ s ” रहता है । उसे Possessive Case का रूप देने के लिए Apostrophe ( ‘ ) का प्रयोग किया जाता है । अगर अंत मे ” s ” नही रहता है, तब apostrophe ( ‘s ) देना होता है । जैसे
गायोंं का दूध cows’ milk
गाय का दूध The cow’s milk

3. मनुष्य एवं जानवरों को छोड़कर अन्य संज्ञाओ के साथ Apostrophe ‘s का प्रयोग प्रायः नही होता है । ऐसा गैरप्राणीबोधक Noun के पहले of लगाकर उसे Possessive Case का रूप दिया जाता है । जैसे
फूलों का रंग The colour of the flowers
घर के दरवाजें The doors of the house

4. प्राणिबोधक संज्ञाओं का Possessive Case आप दोनो प्रकार से यानि Apostrophe ‘s या of लगाकर बना सकते हैं । जैसे
