 What are Reciprocal Pronouns?

Reciprocal pronouns are used to show mutual action or relationship between two or more people. They indicate that two or more subjects are performing the same action towards each other.

 List of Reciprocal Pronouns

There are only two reciprocal pronouns in English:
Each other (Used for two people or things)
One another (Used for more than two people or things)

 Usage of Reciprocal Pronouns

1. Each Other → Used when talking about two people or things.
Example:
Ram and Shyam respect each other.
(राम और श्याम एक-दूसरे का सम्मान करते हैं।)

The two friends were helping each other.
(वे दो दोस्त एक-दूसरे की मदद कर रहे थे।)

2. One Another → Used when talking about more than two people or things.
Example:
All the team members trust one another.
(सभी टीम के सदस्य एक-दूसरे पर विश्वास करते हैं।)

The students in the class were talking to one another.
(कक्षा के सभी छात्र एक-दूसरे से बात कर रहे थे।)

 Difference Between ‘Each Other’ & ‘One Another’

 Common Mistakes to Avoid

Incorrect: They love theirselves.
Correct: They love each other.

Incorrect: The three brothers hate each other.
Correct: The three brothers hate one another.
