Swami Vivekananda’s Quote to Remember:
Swami Vivekananda’s Inspiring Story – The Power of Determination
One day, Swami Vivekananda was walking along the banks of the river Ganges with his disciples. They noticed some boys trying to shoot eggshells floating on the river with their toy bows and arrows. Despite many attempts, they kept missing the target.
Swami Vivekananda watched them for a while and then took the bow and arrow himself. He carefully aimed and shot the arrows. To everyone’s surprise, he hit the eggshell every single time! The boys and his disciples were amazed.
One of the disciples asked, “Swamiji, how did you manage to hit the target every time?”
Swami Vivekananda smiled and said, “When you focus your mind completely on one thing, success follows. The secret is concentration. If you train your mind to concentrate, you can achieve anything in life.”
Moral of the Story:
Success comes from unwavering focus and determination. Like Swami Vivekananda, if we learn to concentrate and dedicate ourselves fully to our goals, we can achieve greatness.

Swami Vivekananda and the Fearless Boy
“Face the Brute!”
Once, Swami Vivekananda was walking down a narrow path in Varanasi. As he passed by a temple, suddenly a group of angry monkeys started chasing him. They were fierce, baring their teeth and making loud noises.
Swami Vivekananda tried to run.
The more he ran, the closer the monkeys got.
He was panicking — until an old sadhu (holy man) standing nearby shouted:
“Stop running! FACE THE BRUTE!”
That one line hit Swami Vivekananda like lightning.
He stopped.
Turned around.
And looked directly at the monkeys with calm and fearlessness.
To his surprise — the monkeys stopped.
Then slowly, they retreated and disappeared.
Later he said:
“This was one of the greatest lessons in my life.
Stand up and face the problem, don’t run away — that’s the way to conquer fear.”
Moral of the Story:
-
Problems are like those monkeys.
-
The more you run, the more they chase you.
-
But the moment you stand firm and face them — they vanish.
Swami Vivekananda’s Quote to Remember:
“Arise! Awake! And stop not till the goal is reached.”
